Job summary

Black Rocket Productions is hiring an after-school technology teacher to work with students ages 8-14 in our project-based learning programs. The role supports Lead Instructors and focuses on coding, Minecraft, Roblox, video editing, game design and more, several days a week after school.

This is a part-time, hourly position offering paid training. Must have a high school diploma, 48 college units or pass NCLB, and be available 2:00–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed 48 college units minimally OR have taken and passed the NCLB Exam or compliant equivalent.
• Experience with technology or teaching preferred.
• Must be available after school hours (approximately 2:00 - 6:00 PM), daily Monday - Friday
• Consistent attendance is REQUIRED, substitutes are not available
• Instructors must be at least 21 years of age and have significant experience working with children ages 8-14 or technology, both is even better!
• Experience with children in an educational setting is preferred but not required
• Comfortable working with teacher-to-student ratios of 20:1 for elementary schoolers
• Strong technology skills preferred, such as a background in 3D modeling, digital arts, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, etc. or significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox, including modding or streaming

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Instructors in guiding students through project-based learning.
• Support classroom activities in coding, games, video editing and design.
• Provide in-room teaching experience with students during after-school sessions.
• Maintain consistent attendance and reliable after-school availability.
• Help manage student-teacher ratio and safety.
