Job summary

Black Rocket Productions is hiring an After School Technology Teacher to guide students through project-based learning in coding, Minecraft, ROBLOX, video editing, and game design. The role runs in 10-week sessions during the school year, with paid training and in-room teaching experience.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or 48 college units (or NCLB equivalent), be at least 21, and able to transport equipment within Vallejo City USD.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completed 48 college units minimally OR have taken and passed the NCLB Exam or compliant equivalent
• Experience with technology or teaching preferred
• Reliable transportation throughout Vallejo City Unified School District with ability to transport approximately 30 lbs of equipment
• Must be available after school hours (approximately 2:00 - 6:00 PM), daily Monday - Friday
• Consistent attendance is REQUIRED, substitutes are not available
• Instructors must be at least 21 years of age and have significant experience working with children ages 8-14 or technology, both is even better!
• Experience with children in an educational setting is preferred but not required
• Comfortable working with teacher-to-student ratios of 20:1 for elementary schoolers
• Strong technology skills preferred, such as a background in 3D modeling, digital arts, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, etc. or significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox, including modding or streaming
