Job summary

Hamadeh Educational Services is seeking Extended Day Teachers to provide academic and social-emotional support to students in after-school programming at Universal Academy – Detroit.

The role offers $40/hour with a $150 quarterly attendance bonus. Schedule is flexible (1–4 days; 3:00–5:00 pm teaching, home planning time). Anticipated start Nov 9, 2026, through May 14, 2027.

Qualifications

• 60+ college credit hours from an accredited university OR passing score on the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment
• Bachelor’s degree in Education is preferred
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate and appropriate endorsements
• Valid Michigan teaching or administrative certification

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and social-emotional support.
• Lead small-group and individual interventions.
• Monitor and document student progress.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff.
• Communicate student progress with families.
• Support family engagement and outreach.
• Maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.
