Job summary

Educational Alliance is seeking a part-time After School Support Specialist for the 14Y program at the 14th Street Y After School Program in New York. The role emphasizes supporting neurodivergent and neurotypical students with daily supervisory responsibilities and collaborative teamwork.

You will participate in orientation, daily activities, and enrichment classes, while upholding inclusive practices and safety standards in a dynamic urban environment.

Qualifications

• Availability to attend all days of After-School (Sept 14, 2026 - Jun 4, 2027) is required.
• Bachelor's Degree a plus
• Experience with neurodivergent children or similar needs is preferred
• Willingness to learn about Jewish culture and traditions
• Friendly, warm, active and enjoys working in childcare
• Collaborative and capable in fast-paced environments
• Experience with diverse cultural and social backgrounds is valued

Responsibilities

• Attend all days of staff orientation before After School.
• Attend After-School and monthly staff meetings during the year.
• Learn about assigned after-schoolers and carry out their plan for success.
• Assist campers who require additional support in pool during swim periods.
• Communicate progress with Support Coordinator and Program Manager.
• Work harmoniously with Group Leaders to support after-schoolers.
• Adhere to safety standards and agency policies.
• Uphold values of Growth, Empathy, Wonder, Spirit, Community-Mindedness, Kindness, and Gratitude.
• Assume responsibility for health and safety of all after-schoolers.
• Provide supervision during enrichment classes and activities.
• Support daily pickups and transitions as needed.
• Encourage children to do their best and be daily support system.
• Provide weekly progress updates to Support Coordinator.
