We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic After-School Counselor (part-time) to assist in providing a safe, caring and educational environment for children in our after-school program. The hours are Monday through Friday, 3:15pm to 5:30pm, at a rate of $18.00 per hour. The children will be in kindergarten to 4th grade.
Responsibilities include supervising and guiding children, assisting with homework, planning and implementing educational activities, and communicating effectively with parents and school staff.
Our ideal candidate is experienced in child development, education, or a related field and has a passion for helping children grow and learn outside of the traditional classroom setting.
The following duties and responsibilities:
Assist in planning and implementing daily after-school activities
Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities
Maintain a safe and positive environment for the children
Distribute snacks following health and safety guidelines
Communicate effectively with parents/staff about their child’s behavior
Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with children in a school or after-school setting
Basic knowledge of child development and educational activities
First aid and CPR certification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patience and resilience with excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to pass background check
