Manhattan Youth is hiring several part-time After-school Spanish Teachers/Activities Specialists for the 2026-2027 school year in Manhattan. Join a dedicated team to lead Spanish language learning activities and support students' social, emotional, and academic growth through diverse activities.

Responsibilities include lesson planning, curriculum design, and promoting positive classroom environments. Roles run 2:30–6:00pm, Monday–Friday, September through June, with opportunities to teach

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience with middle or elementary school children, after-school setting preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrable knowledge of content areas and a passion for teaching.
• Experience with educational technology instruction and practice.
• Ability to build positive relationships with families, students, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Work with Education Directors to design program curriculum.
• Create lesson plans and curriculum based on class descriptions and goals.
• Structure classroom instruction to promote student-centered, project-based learning.
• Plan, organize and prepare activities and materials for daily schedule.
• Promote and model core values and behaviors for staff and students.
• Collaborate with staff to create a positive community and showcase student work.
• Update Program Director on classroom progress and challenges.
• Attend staff meetings and comply with training requirements.
• Ensure safety of groups of children during activities and field trips.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
