Job summary

Union School District's Guadalupe School in San Jose is seeking a Recess Lead for a 11 am–1 pm daily schedule (.250 FTE). This role focuses on supervising and organizing lunch-time activities for school-age children, while reporting to the principal and coordinating with staff.

As part of the Extended Care program, you will ensure safety, assist with snacks, help children with homework, and provide positive role modeling.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation or equivalent; six units in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience: Six months working with school-age children preferred.
• Licenses: Valid First Aid/CPR certificate or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, engaging learning environment during lunch recess.
• Lead and supervise students in activities and games.
• Communicate with parents and staff regarding student progress.
• Assist with snacks and maintain sign-in/out sheets.
• Administer first aid when needed in accordance with procedures.
