Job summary

Big Ideas Educational Services seeks a Reading Certified Project-Based Learning (PBL) Teacher for after-school literacy programs from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. You will deliver standards-aligned reading instruction through engaging PBL activities and collaborate with instructional staff to support literacy development.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate with Reading certification or Elementary Education certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Experience teaching elementary-aged students.
• Knowledge of Florida B.E.S.T. Standards and evidence-based literacy instruction.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to use student assessment data to guide instruction.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning team.
• Successful Level II Background Screening.
• Completion of required DCF Child Care Training (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Deliver project-based reading instruction aligned with Florida standards.
• Facilitate small-group and whole-group literacy instruction for diverse learners.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual needs.
• Integrate reading, writing, vocabulary, comprehension and critical thinking.
• Foster a positive classroom culture with collaboration and active participation.
• Utilize hands-on learning experiences to promote growth.
• Administer and monitor student assessments as directed.
• Analyze data to inform planning and interventions.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Collaborate with Instructional Coach to adjust instruction.
