Job summary

The City and County of San Francisco's Recreation and Park Department seeks a Recreation Manager I to lead the expansion of after-school opportunities across 19 sites, while overseeing facilities, programs and summer day camps to meet departmental goals.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of supervisory experience, plus a valid California Driver's License. This is a full-time, permanent exempt position with opportunity for impact across city recreation services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; substitution allowed with additional qualifying experience.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience supervising staff in recreation programs.
• Valid California Driver's License at the time of appointment.
• Experience and ability to lead expansion projects and coordinate with partner organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to expand after-school opportunities across 19 sites.
• Manage facilities, programs and summer day camps to align with goals.
• Lead staff including supervisors and specialists, ensuring coverage across sites.
• Prepare and monitor the department's budget and procure equipment and supplies.
• Collaborate with internal divisions, schools and community organizations.
