Job summary

Cherokee County School District is seeking an After School Program Worker (18+) in Canton, Georgia. This substitute, temporary role is paid hourly as work is available, with no eligibility for employee benefits.

The position focuses on supervising and assisting with student activities, ensuring safety, maintaining records, and adhering to district policies. Starting date is immediate with potential staff meetings and required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assists with roll call to ensure accountability for all students
• Assists in planning and implementing student activities for assigned classes
• Assists in maintaining proper records
• Assists in the distribution of snacks
• Actively supervises students during daily activities
• Maintains expectations for students’ behavior and safety and informs Assistant Coordinator of difficulties requiring disciplinary action
• Attends and participates in After School Program staff meetings and required training sessions
• Maintains a good attendance record and makes Assistant Coordinator aware when needing to be absent
• Follows appropriate procedures for emergencies such as student or staff health concerns, severe weather, suspected fire or facility issues
• Ensures adherence to good safety procedures
• Follows federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies
• Performs other duties as assigned
