Job summary

Cherokee County School District - GA is seeking a part-time After School Program Assistant to support students, staff and visitors, maintain an orderly, courteous environment, and help ensure safety after school hours. Pay is $15 per hour and the position is temporary, based on hours worked and project availability.

Key duties include roll call, planning activities, distributing snacks, supervising students, keeping records, attending staff meetings and trainings, and following safety procedures

Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of GED Testing Program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with roll call to ensure accountability for all students
• Assists in planning and implementing student activities for assigned classes
• Assists in maintaining proper records; distributes snacks
• Actively supervises students during daily activities
• Maintains expectations for students’ behavior and safety and informs Assistant Coordinator of difficulties requiring disciplinary action
• Attends and participates in After School Program staff meetings and required training sessions
• Maintains a good attendance record and communicates absences to Assistant Coordinator
• Follows appropriate procedures for emergencies such as health concerns, severe weather, suspected fire or facility issues
• Ensures adherence to good safety procedures
• Follows federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education
