Job summary

Somerville Public Schools is seeking a 26-27 Afterschool PT Assistant Teacher for West Somerville. The role supports after-school and out-of-school time care for grades Pre-K to 8, supervising groups, co-teaching, and implementing daily curriculum in alignment with district standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or relevant experience with school age children.
• Minimum nine months experience with school age children (three months supervised).
• Experience with project-based curriculum and diverse populations.
• Ability to manage behavior and set clear limits.

Responsibilities

• Lead group activities for school year and summer programs.
• Supervise and interact with children; ensure safety and health.
• Plan, implement, and adjust daily curriculum in line with SCAP procedures.
• Attend meetings and communicate with Administration and families.
