Job summary

VistAbility is seeking an enthusiastic After School Program Teacher to create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for participants aged 7-22 with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Richmond, CA.

Hours are part-time, with full-time hours during school breaks. Responsibilities include leading activities, promoting social and educational growth, and safely transporting participants to community events. Tuition reimbursement is offered and benefits are provided by the employer.

Qualifications

• Completion of, or willingness to obtain, 12 Semester or 18 quarter units in early childhood education (ECE), child development, recreation, physical education, social welfare, nursing, psychology, sociology, home economics, education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
• California Driver's License and a good driving record.
• Successful completion of a health screen, drug screen, and criminal background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities to provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment for participants.
• Foster social interaction and skill development for children and young adults ages 7-22 with IDD.
• Safely transport participants to community events and activities using agency vehicles.
