Job summary

The Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) is seeking a Program Leader to develop and oversee middle school enrichment activities at the Aptos Beacon Center. You’ll design curriculum, lead skill-building projects, and deliver engaging programs that support youth growth.

You will supervise a range of activities—from arts and sports to tutoring, STEAM, and college awareness—while collaborating with school staff and families to promote positive outcomes and strong community connections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or must have completed a minimum of 48 college units or passed an Instructional Aide Exam.
• Knowledge of youth development practices and 1+ year of facilitating enrichment activities for youth.
• Experience in classroom management, conflict mediation, and restorative practices is a plus.
• Experience with ethnically diverse youth and families facing poverty or trauma is a plus.
• Ability to develop, implement, and organize programs and events.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; teamwork.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Good technology skills (Google Docs, Sheets, MS Office).
• Bilingual in Cantonese/Mandarin, Spanish, or Tagalog preferred.
• Able to lift or move at least 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a variety of skill-building and project-based learning activities for middle school youth.
• Provide academic tutoring and assist with daily homework.
• Maintain a positive, safe learning environment and manage behavior using restorative practices.
• Create marketing strategies and promotional materials to recruit and retain youth in afterschool programs.
• Coordinate cultural celebrations and culminating events with school and Beacon staff.
• Maintain strong communication with school, Beacon staff, and families.
• Assist with data collection and programmatic reports as requested.
• Assist with evaluation data for funders and continuous improvement.
• Attend staff meetings and ongoing trainings as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
