Kidcreate Studios in Virginia seeks an enthusiastic After School Program Instructor for elementary students (3-6 pm), Monday–Friday during the school year. The role focuses on a safe, engaging environment with age-appropriate activities across educational, arts, and science enrichment.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is energetic and creative, and can lead a positive, well-managed classroom. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain it.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in education or related field is a plus.
• Experience with children preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead groups of children and maintain a positive learning environment.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Must meet background-check and child-safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage students during the after-school program.
• Plan and lead educational, recreational, arts and science activities.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment where students feel safe.
• Maintain classroom behavior-management expectations.
• Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, teachers, and staff.
• Monitor student safety and follow program policies.
• Prepare materials and activity areas, participate in events and projects.
• Complete attendance and other program documentation.

Location: Elementary Schools in Fairfax, Falls Church, Arlington

Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and engaging After School Program Instructor to join our team. The instructor will provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment for elementary school students during after‑school hours (3-6 pm).

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is energetic and creative, and can lead age‑appropriate activities while maintaining a positive and well‑managed classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage students during the after‑school program.
• Plan and lead educational, recreational, arts and science enrichment activities.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel safe and encouraged.
• Maintain appropriate classroom and behavior‑management expectations.
• Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, teachers, and program staff.
• Monitor student safety and follow all program policies and procedures.
• Prepare and organize materials and activity areas.
• Participate in special events, themed activities, and program projects.
• Complete required attendance, incident, and other program documentation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree in education, child development, recreation, or a related field is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead groups of children and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Dependable, patient, energetic, and responsible.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
