The Newington Public School is seeking an After-School Program Facilitator who independently supervises 3 to 8 students on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-5:00pm, managing them until they are pick-up.
The daily rate is $100.
Key Responsibilities
Student Supervision: Directs daily activities (crafts, outdoor play) and temporarily oversees student-athletes for ~30 minutes while they await their coaches.
Nutrition: Prepares and serves daily snacks.
Safety & Duty of Care: Serves as the sole adult on site, ensuring student safety until all children are signed out.
Job Summary
- Plan and implement after-school programs for students to ensure activities align with educational developmental goals.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- A high school diploma. A degree in educaiton, child development, social work, or related field is preferred.
- Experience with leading after-school programs preferred.
- Must pass a background check.

Planning and Preparation
- Implement a diverse range of after-school activities, including academic support, arts, sports, and enrichment.
- Identify students' needs and interests to tailor activities accordingly.
- Plan a structured schedule of activities that balance educational, recreational, and social components.
- Develop age-appropriate activities that align with educational standards and program goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making necessary adjustments based on student engagement and feedback.

- Establish and enforce behavioral expectations and ensure proper supervision at all times.
