Job summary

Caliday School Age Teachers assist the Program Director in the operations of the before and after care program for school-age children, implementing activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld and a safe, learning environment is provided.

They support and direct teacher assistants, maintain communication with parents and school communities, and ensure proper classroom management and safety while following the Caliday curriculum.

Qualifications

• Requires AA or BA in education/child development or equivalent
• Includes CPR, First Aid, Health & Safety, ADA training certificates
• Requires 400 hours experience with school age children

Responsibilities

• Manages the program space in compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and policies
• Creates a welcoming environment for children, parents and visitors
• Implements age-appropriate activities aligned with Caliday curriculum
• Supervises and counsels children using Conscious Discipline
• Communicates with parents, provides updates and feedback
• Maintains classroom appearance, cleanliness and safety
• Identifies program opportunities or issues and coordinates solutions
• Maintains annual certification requirements including CE credits
