Job summary

Union Settlement Association seeks a Program Director to oversee ExpandED Schools programs in East Harlem. You will hire, train, evaluate, supervise staff, and manage daily operations of a diverse team.

The role covers program development, school/partner relations, budget oversight, and ensuring contractual obligations. You’ll also lead outreach, grant writing, and fundraising to sustain growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Education/Social Work or related field preferred, not required.
• Alternate credentials with two years of supervisory childcare experience accepted.
• Three years’ experience in youth development and supervision in urban settings.

Responsibilities

• Implement a program with social-emotional support tied to project-based learning.
• Update ExpandED reporting databases weekly: attendance, scope, schedule, staffing.
• Lead staff hiring, training, evaluation, and daily operational management.
• Develop and manage program budget and relationships with schools and partners.
• Lead grant writing and fundraising efforts to sustain and grow the program.
