Job summary

Chelmsford Public Schools - Chelmsford Community Education Center is seeking an Extended Day Counselor to coordinate after-school programs and ensure engaging activities for students.

The role requires high school diploma (associate degree preferred) with experience working with school-age children. Part-time shifts, flexible scheduling, and a $20 per hour wage are offered, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and collaborate with parents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; two years of college preferred.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Attend mandatory training and complete CPS required trainings.
• Assist with records on students (sign in/sign out).
• Help implement daily program plans for Extended Day.
• Plan activities to enhance student experience and manage small groups.
• Adapt behavior plans to meet individual student needs.
• Supervise and mentor Jr. Counselor staff and interact with students.
• Communicate with parents about highlights and concerns.
