Job summary

The Bush School in Seattle, WA, is seeking an Extended Day Program Assistant to support K–8 students in the after-school program. This on-site role assists colleagues, faculty, staff and vendors while contributing to daily student programming.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, leading arts, science, sports and free play, and ensuring a welcoming environment with strong relationships to families. CPR/First Aid certification or readiness is required or obtained soon after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience supervising school-age children required; 1+ year preferred.
• Training in education, childhood development or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise activities for grades K-5, and occasionally grades 6-8.
• Lead after-school activities including inside art and science, outside sports and free play, and gym activities.
• Create an inclusive environment by being open and welcoming, building strong relationships with students and families, and helping students resolve differences.
• Prepare for student snack service.
• Collaborate with the Extended Day Program team regarding student programming, daily preparations, and vendor oversight.
