Thunder Taekwondo & Martial Arts Academy is seeking an energetic After-School Program Assistant to help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. You will supervise, transport, and support youth in after-school activities, including arts, crafts, sports, and tutoring.

The role emphasizes positive supervision, teamwork, and reliable communication with parents and staff, with opportunities to contribute to diverse programs and outdoor activities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transport students from local Elementary Schools to the facility.
• Supervise children during after-school hours ensuring safety and well-being.
• Facilitate youth activities including arts, crafts, sports, games, and educational projects.
• Maintain positive behavior management to promote respectful interactions.
• Assist with homework help and tutoring to support academic growth.
• Implement basic first aid or CPR in emergencies when necessary.
• Collaborate with team to plan engaging programs for diverse interests.
• Light cleaning and front desk administration.

Responsibilities

• Transport the students from the local Elementary Schools to our facility.
• Supervise children during after‑school hours, ensuring their safety and well‑being at all times
• Facilitate a variety of youth activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational projects
• Maintain a positive behavior management approach to promote respectful interactions and cooperation among children
• Assist with homework help and tutoring to support academic growth and confidence
• Implement first aid protocols when necessary, including administering basic first aid or CPR in emergencies
• Collaborate with team members to plan engaging programs that cater to diverse interests and developmental need.
• Light Cleaning and Front Desk administration.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children or youth in educational, childcare, camp, or recreational settings
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
• Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Strong communication skills with the ability to connect positively with children, parents, and team members
• Experience with special education needs or childhood development is a plus
• Ability to work outdoors and adapt to various weather conditions during outdoor activities
• Demonstrated team leadership skills and the ability to facilitate youth group activities effectively
