Job summary

North West Hendricks Schools at Pittsboro Primary School is seeking a Students After School (SAS) Program Assistant to support developmentally appropriate activities for school-age children in the SAS before and after care program. The role emphasizes adherence to SAS policies and collaboration with the director to provide a safe, engaging environment.

The position involves assisting in weekly activity planning, supervising groups of children, and maintaining hygienic routines.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of curriculum plans and execute appropriate activities for children each week
• Work unassisted with a group of children
• Monitors playground, gym and any other areas where the children may be
• Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with staff members, parents and children
• Assists in the weekly job rotation of duties, including, but not limited to snack preparations, sign-in procedures, clean-up, bathroom monitoring, etc
• Reports to work daily, on time and ready to work
• Participates in weekly staff meetings
• Represents SAS in a positive way to parents and children, staff and school
• Ensures that hygienic routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt and consistent, these routines include bathroom usage, hand washing, snack preparation, eating habits, transitions between activities, cleaning the area, etc
• Follow all SAS policies and procedures as directed by SAS Director
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor
