Job summary

The New Canaan YMCA is hiring for Kids Unlimited, the after-school program for school-aged children, to supervise and engage participants from 2:30pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday, following the New Canaan Public School calendar. This part-time role offers $16.94 to $18.00 hourly pay and opportunities for full-day shifts during school closings as part of Vacation Camp.

Candidates should be 16+ with experience babysitting or camp counseling and a warm, friendly demeanor.

Qualifications

• Be 16 years of age or older.
• Relate well to children of this age group.
• Experience in babysitting/camp counseling.
• Warm and friendly personality and sensitive to the needs of others

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing and healthy environment for the children in their care.
• Supervise the children, classroom, and activities to create a fun and inviting space.
• Monitor check in/check out information and contact information in case parent/guardian must be reached.
• Be a role model by demonstrating the YMCA Four Core Values: Honesty, Respect, Caring and Responsibility
