Job summary

Manhattan Youth is seeking an After-School Pool Counselor/Swim Lesson Assistant to join our Aquatics team for the 2026-2027 school year. This role supports swim programs before, during, and after lessons, with a focus on safety and positive interactions with children.

No aquatics experience is required, though those with a background are encouraged. CPR certification will be provided, and training is available.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and initiative are important.
• Experience with children in classroom, camp, or childcare is preferred.
• Pursuing a degree in education or related field is encouraged.
• CPR training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Greet students, take attendance, and supervise transitions between swim lessons.
• Engage and form positive relationships with children in after-school programs.
• Maintain open communication with Aquatics Supervisors and Program Managers.
• Assist in-water with swim lessons on some days, as needed.
• Ensure safety of students during all activities.
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including pool area, locker rooms, and restrooms.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
