Job summary

Music Kids is seeking enthusiastic educators to join our team for the 2025-2065 school year to teach beginning level violin, piano, and guitar at partner schools across our district.

We offer small group classes, curriculum resources, and support to learn the basics for all three instruments, with opportunities to expand into leadership and program management while contributing to local elementary education.

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years of teaching experience in music or a classroom setting.
• Able or willing to teach more than one instrument at beginner level (violin, piano, guitar).
• Interest in teaching a wide range of students, including 3-5 year olds.
• Strong commitment to primary education impact.
• Comfortable teaching small groups of 3-4 students.
• Flexible and creative teaching style; adapt to parents and students.
• Proactive and able to work independently representing the organization.
• Experience with leadership or project management.
• Able to work with office staff on administration and development.
• Reliable, organized, timely.
• Friendly in written and verbal communication.
• Comfortable with daily use of email, messaging, databases, timekeeping, and online tools to manage activities.
• Owns a car to commute to partner schools.

Responsibilities

• In-school: teaching and student performances.
• Out-of-School: parent communication, lesson planning, scheduling, progress reporting, supplementary virtual learning.
• Promoting the program and driving enrollment at partner school events throughout the year.
• Participating in professional development opportunities through collaboration with senior resident Faculty Members and staff.
