Job summary

Sylvan Learning of West Covina is hiring up to 15 tutors for an after-school math intervention program at WCUSD campuses serving elementary and middle school students.

The role is in-person, with curriculum and materials provided. Tutors deliver live instruction to small groups, track progress, and follow the Ace It! Math program. Shifts run after school, beginning as early as 1:00 p.m., with up to 12–24 weeks of commitment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or teaching/tutoring experience preferred.
• Experience with elementary-age students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver live, teacher-led math instruction to groups of up to eight students.
• Follow Sylvan curriculum and lesson structure.
• Model concepts clearly and adjust explanations as needed.
• Maintain a positive, organized classroom environment.
• Record attendance, skills taught, and student progress.
• Support STAR pre- and post-assessments.
• Communicate student needs to site manager.
• Arrive prepared and on time for every shift.
• Follow all procedures.
