Job summary

Ann Arbor YMCA is seeking a Lead School Age Teacher to supervise the after school program and collaborate with Directors on activity planning for youth from Young 5s through Fifth Grade. You will supervise staff, ensure safety, and maintain program spaces.

The role requires at least one year of child-related experience, a valid Chauffeur’s License or ability to obtain one, and CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days. M-F afternoons, program-based scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• At least one year of experience with children; teaching experience preferred.
• Must have Chauffeur’s License or obtain it before the first day.
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the after school program.
• Develop and implement activities for physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.
• Train new after school staff and ensure policy compliance.
• Manage check-in/check-out procedures and transportation for participants.
