Job summary

North Saint Paul Maplewood & Oakdale School District 622 is seeking an Inclusion Paraeducator for the FLIGHT program at Skyview Middle School after school. The role supports students in grades 6-8 with inclusion needs, providing supervised activities and helping them adapt to the after-school environment.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 2:00-5:15 pm (16.25 hours weekly); pay rate is $24.54 per hour. Applicants must be 18+, have a HS diploma, and be able to obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification or ability to obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to manage stress in working with children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of activities for school-age children.
• Provide adaptations and accommodations as directed.
• Promote a safe, productive environment for children with special needs.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and supervise 1:1 when required.
• Assist with toileting, feeding, dressing as needed per IEP.
• Prepare snacks and supervise activities.
• Open/close Adventure Connection facilities as required.
• Maintain program records and behavior documentation.
