The YMCA of Greater New York offers part-time afterschool roles at the Dodge YMCA in Brooklyn, NY. Group Leaders support a safe, enriching afterschool program for school-age children, manage activities, and collaborate with staff and families to foster learning and personal growth.

Participants benefit from age-appropriate activities, a strong emphasis on inclusivity, and opportunities to develop leadership and interpersonal skills in a supportive community setting.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent; college credits preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with children under 13 in a group setting.
• Current Pediatric CPR or First Aid certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to engage diverse youth.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants with supervision.
• Collaborate on age-appropriate lesson plans with specialists.
• Provide academic support including homework help and tutoring.
• Create activities and events aligned with SEL, literacy, STEAM, and life skills.
• Prepare learning environment and supplies for activities.
• Coordinate ending program events and communicate with families.
