Job summary

University Settlement Society Of New York is seeking a part-time youth program facilitator for the 10-month school year. The role focuses on creating engaging activities for up to 20 youths, ensuring safety, and guiding multidisciplinary lessons.

You will design lesson plans, support academic activities during homework, and work with a co-counselor. The position requires strong energy, a positive attitude, and ongoing communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or HSE required; current college enrollment a plus.
• Experience working with middle and high school students.
• Ability to commit for the entire school year.
• Must be over 18 years old.
• Highly energetic, dynamic, and positive.

Responsibilities

• Create and lead engaging activities for up to 20 youth, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Design and implement lesson plans for multidisciplinary activities with student feedback.
• Provide academic assistance during homework period.
• Plan and involve children in a range of multidisciplinary activities with theming.
• Serve as a positive role model and uphold professional behavior.
• Collaborate with co-counselor and staff; communicate with supervisor.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and problems.
• Manage program supplies and use of facilities, including classrooms.
• Complete documentation and administrative tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
