Job summary

Kamaʻāina Kids in Honolulu is seeking an After School Group Leader to guide elementary-aged keiki through games, homework help, and enrichment activities. This part-time role focuses on safety, inclusion, and building positive relationships.

You’ll lead afternoons 1:30 PM–5:30 PM with early release days; no evenings or weekends. Ideal for students, teachers, coaches, retirees, or parents seeking meaningful part-time work.

Qualifications

• Genuinely enjoys working with elementary-age children.
• Ability to lead activities and keep children engaged.
• Reliable, patient, and encouraging; works well in a team.
• At least 18 years old with HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Lead games, recreation and outdoor activities.
• Plan arts, crafts, STEM, and other enrichment activities.
• Support children with homework and schoolwork.
• Encourage teamwork, confidence and positive behavior.
• Build positive relationships with keiki and their families.

• Monday–Friday afternoons
• Most shifts are approximately 1:30 PM–5:30 PM
• Wednesdays begin around 12:30 PM for early release
• No evenings
• No weekends
• No holiday work

What Your Afternoons Will Look Like

No two days are exactly the same. You might organize an outdoor game, help a student finish their homework, set up an art project, lead a STEM activity, or simply be the encouraging adult a child needs that afternoon.

You’ll:
