Job summary

The Cesar Chavez Foundation in Ontario-Montclair, CA is seeking a part-time after-school facilitator for the Art is Power program starting December 2025. You will help develop students' art, language and reading/writing skills while boosting confidence as young artists.

Hours are two days per week, 1.5 hours per session, plus 1–1.5 hours of prep time weekly. Fluency in English and Spanish required; FBI/DOJ livescan in California.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades 6–8.
• Facilitating lessons for 15–20 students with strong classroom management.
• Experience engaging and motivating students in enrichment settings.
• Math or STEM affinity is a plus; credential in progress or completed is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead after-school sessions 2 days per week, 1.5 hours each.
• Provide 1–1.5 hours of prep time per week.
• Foster a joyful, engaging learning environment for youth.
• Collaborate with colleagues and adapt lessons as needed.

Job description

The Cesar Chavez Foundation is seeking a part-time after school facilitator in our Art is Power after-school art and English Language Arts enrichment program in Ontario-Montclair, CA, starting in December 2025. Through this program, we develop students’ art, language and Reading/Writing skills as well as their confidence and identities as artists. We are seeking an after school leader with a deep commitment to creating opportunities for underserved youth and an excitement around leading young people in an engaging, joyful learning experience. No art teaching experience or art degree required! After school sessions will take place 2 days per week for 1.5 hours a session . The facilitator will also be paid for 1-1.5 hours of prep time per week. Fluency in English and Spanish required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience working with students in grades 6-8
• Experience facilitating lessons for a group of 15-20 students with strong classroom management
• Experience engaging and motivating students in a classroom or enrichment setting
• Experience and/or affinity with mathematics or STEM preferred
• In progress or completed California Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or emergency teaching credential is a bonus

• Must complete FBI/DOJ livescan in California

COMPENSATION RANGE

Hourly rate; $25-$35 DOE
