Job summary

Peninsula Family Service offers an afterschool program that supports school-age children with supervision, safety, and enrichment. The teacher plans engaging activities to boost academics, social-emotional growth, and physical development while providing homework help in a nurturing environment.

The role reports to the Site Manager and requires a minimum of 12 ECE/CD units, some childcare experience, and CPR/First Aid certification. Flexibility to calendar events is needed.

Qualifications

• Must have 12 ECE/CD units.
• Experience with children for 6 months to 1 year in a licensed setting.
• Eligible for a Teacher Credentialing Permit.
• Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to pass background checks, TB tests, and meet immunization requirements.
• Flexibility to support the school calendar

Responsibilities

• Supervise children at all times to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
• Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities (STEM, literacy).
• Provide homework assistance and promote positive study habits.
• Support children's creativity, problem solving, and teamwork.
• Engage families and maintain respectful communication with staff and families.
• Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and specialists and attend required trainings.
