Job summary

Catalyst Family Inc. is seeking an After School Instructor in Irvine, CA to tutor, supervise and enrich students in a dynamic after-school program. You will collaborate with the Site Coordinator to implement curriculum, maintain safety, and engage families, while supporting district partnerships and diverse learners.

The role requires high energy, strong organization, and clear communication. A minimum of a high school diploma is required, with 6+ months of childcare experience preferred, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; district requirements may vary
• 6+ months’ experience with children preferred
• Ability to manage a classroom of up to 20 students TK–8th grade
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow district requirements (fingerprint, CPR/First Aid, TB test)

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring and homework assistance to meet national standards
• Collaborate with Site Coordinator to implement Catalyst ExpandEd curriculum
• Provide educational enrichment and youth development activities
• Work with school staff and district personnel
• Track student progress using program protocols
• Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment
• Complete safety documentation including injury reports
• Monitor attendance and ASEs requirements
• Prepare weekly lesson plans
• Engage families and participate in meetings
• Support other sites when needed
• Apply behavior management techniques to support students
• Undertake required trainings and professional development
• Arrange classroom setup and materials for mobile classrooms
• Promote DEI in department operations
