Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent. Prior experience working with youth preferred.
• Paraprofessional Proficiency Exam certification mandated by the State of California for Instructional Assistants.
• Alternative paths: AA degree; 48 college units; or proficiency test.
• YALE Preschool: 12 semester units in early childhood education and relevant permits.
• Continues 10 hours of professional development per academic year.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise student groups with safety and policy adherence.
• Provide engaging learning and enrichment activities aligned with the District Program Plan.
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for social, emotional, physical, and academic growth.
• Communicate with parents and staff regarding students in the program.
• Monitor arrivals, departures, transitions, and field trips; report issues as directed.
