Job summary

City of Modesto is seeking an After School Program Specialist to create engaging learning environments after school hours. The role includes academic support, enrichment activities, and safe recreation, with focus on student growth and inclusivity.

The position is part-time, at-will, and non-benefited, with hours under 1,000 per year. Applicants must meet education and certification requirements and complete the City application and supplemental questionnaire.

Qualifications

• Experience with children is desirable.
• High School diploma or GED with 48 college units or equivalent.
• Must have or be able to obtain Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certificates.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clear, effective communication with supervisory staff.
• Supervise program participants.
• Promote a safe and positive environment and maintain appropriate student-to-staff ratio.
• Provide academic assistance and plan site curriculum and enrichment activities.
• Assist in daily setup/cleanup and ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Travel between worksites as needed.
