Job summary

Northampton Public Schools is seeking part-time IGNITE AFTER SCHOOL staff to join the program serving four elementary schools in Northampton, MA. This role involves leading activities for students in grades K-5, ensuring a safe, engaging environment, and collaborating with other staff.

Hours run Monday through Friday, 2:00–5:00 p.m. (program operates 2:15–6:30 p.m.); compensation ranges by role, with non-contracted staff paid hourly. A school-year position with no benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and some experience with elementary school aged children.
• Must become certified in CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time at 2:00 p.m. to check students into the program.
• Lead activities for small and/or large groups and monitor student safety.
• Model positive behavior and communication skills.
• Be responsive to students’ needs and interests; assist with problem solving and conflict resolution.
