Job summary

Children's Aid is seeking an Afterschool Facilitator for the Salome Urena Campus in New York City. The role runs Monday through Friday, 2:00pm–6:00pm, providing homework help, literacy-based instruction, and social emotional learning in an engaging, safe environment for middle schoolers.

The position emphasizes alignment with the organization’s mission and core values, with collaboration across staff and with families to support student growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience working with children, tutoring, or teaching preferred.
• Field of study in Education or Social Work.
• Ability to provide homework help and tutoring in reading, writing, and math.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for up to 20 children in a group or club.
• Lead engaging, safe, and respectful activities; model positive behavior for youth.
• Provide individual and group tutoring in reading, writing, mathematics and study skills.
• Collaborate with an Assistant Facilitator to plan day-to-day activities.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; support program operations and supervision.
