Job summary

Auburn YMCA seeks a School Aged Childcare Assistant for the Jordan Elbridge location to support before- and after-school enrichment for children ages 5-12. Under the supervision of the SACC Director, you will help plan, supervise and ensure safe, engaging activities.

You will follow YMCA policies and NYS OCFS regulations, model positive behavior, assist with homework time and snacks, and maintain clear daily records and effective communication with staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, organization and leading the daily SACC activities
• Implements and actively participates in all activities
• Observes and follows NYS OCFS guidelines
• Acts as a positive role model for children
• Provides a safe, healthy, moral and fun environment for all children
• Supervises behavior management using positive techniques
• Ensures set homework time and provides help as needed
• Ensures nutritious snacks as appropriate
• Maintains clear daily records and attends scheduled meetings/trainings
