Job summary

Sun Prairie Area School District seeks a Lead Site Instructor to supervise an assigned group of children after school under general supervision. You will help develop goals, monitor progress, and coordinate program activities while communicating with families and staff.

The role includes substituting as Site Coordinator when needed, ensuring safety and inclusivity, and leading after-school programming with district collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, youth development, or related field.
• Ability to nurture children and plan age-appropriate activities.
• Ability to interact with families professionally and build trust.
• Strong leadership and attention to detail.
• Criminal background check required.
• Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
• Experience in after school/expanded learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and supervise children during all activities.
• Ensure site cleanliness and a safe environment.
• Complete daily notes, accident/incident reports, and attendance records.
• Implement lesson plans, programs, organization, and schedule.
• If Site Coordinator is unavailable, assume full responsibility for the site.
• Communicate effectively with families and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality for all families and staff.
• Engage and support staff to achieve program goals.
• Develop relationships with partner staff, families, and the community.
• Maintain knowledge of child development and its importance.
• Participate in professional development and training.
• Maintain professionalism in timeliness, attitude, and integrity.
• Respect cultural diversity and foster an inclusive environment.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
