Job summary

South Ogden Jr High in Weber School District is seeking an Assistant Coach for miscellaneous hours during the athletic season. The role is at-will and requires a background check prior to starting, with varsity or collegiate experience preferred.

Must be 21+, able to engage with students, community and peers, and promote a positive environment while teaching fundamental coaching skills.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work with students, community and peers and promote a positive manner in bringing all these groups together.
• Secondary coaching experience is desired.
• Ability to motivate and inspire kids to be academic athletes and to teach them fundamental skills.
• All conditions being equal, a certified employee of the District or an individual who has passed the State Athletic Certification program will be given priority.
• Individuals must complete a background check prior to starting to coach. Varsity or collegiate-level experience preferred.
• Physical Demands: Lifting, bending, reaching, squatting, pushing, pulling etc.
• Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Responsibilities

• Coach students as an Assistant Coach during miscellaneous hours of the athletic season.
• Promote positive behavior and bring students, community, and peers together.
• Teach fundamental skills and motivate athletes to excel academically and athletically.
