Job summary

St. Louise Parish School in Bellevue is seeking an Early Childhood Afterschool Care Assistant to support the Kids' Club Director in providing a nurturing, structured environment for afterschool activities.

The aide assists with instructional activities, classroom management, supervision, and student support to foster academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 3:00-5:45pm and Wednesday 2:00-5:45pm, totaling 14.75 hours.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.
Active MERIT account with up-to-date STARS documentation.
Background checks, Safe Environment training, and CPR/First Aid requirements completed.

Responsibilities

Picks up students from their classroom at the end of the day.
Gather backpacks, snacks, and mats.
Directs and assists with supervision of students, ensuring safety and positive development.
Creates a positive image of the program through communication with the school and parish community.
Maintain a 1:10 student-to-staff ratio at all times per DCYF laws.
Supervise drop-off and pick-up; ensure timely departure of families.
Reinforce routines and behavior management; monitor classroom dynamics.
Support students in developing independence and responsible peer interactions.
