Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in the Chicago area. Lead fun, interactive chess classes for elementary students, using our structured curriculum and promoting good sportsmanship.

Classes are scheduled on weekday afternoons (2:00 PM–5:00 PM). Travel to various local school sites is required, with mileage reimbursement for trips over 15 miles.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring groups of children.
• Ability to lead a class independently while keeping sessions interactive and fun.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor.
• Genuine desire to be a positive role model promoting good sportsmanship.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and clear explanations of moves and tactics for kids.
• Ability to connect chess problem-solving to real-life scenarios.
• Reliable personal transportation to travel between schools.
• Weekday afternoon availability to teach 1–5 classes per week.
• Commitment to following school safety protocols and policies.
• Strong punctuality and time-management skills.

Responsibilities
