Job summary

The Catholic Center is seeking staff for the Bridges after-school program in Raleigh. This part-time role involves supervising students, leading activities, and supporting homework time.

Hours are up to 15 per week, Monday through Friday 2:45pm–6pm. Applicants must be 18+, pass background and reference checks, and complete Safe Environment Training on hire.

Qualifications

• Experience with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Employment contingent on background check and Safe Environment Training.

Responsibilities

• Provides a welcoming and safe environment for all students
• Sets up and cleans up games, toys, and snacks
• Monitors student behavior during indoor and outdoor play and reinforces safety
• Assists students with homework as needed
• Communicates with staff regarding student transport to ensure safety
• Maintains positive communications with parents, students and staff

Schedule: Part-Time / Flexible schedule Mondays through Friday 2:45pm – 6pm / Up to 15 hours per week

Position Summary:

Our Bridges staff members are responsible for the supervision and well-being the students in our after-school program. Staff members are responsible for leading activities, monitoring students during indoor and outdoor play (including student behavior), assisting with homework time, transporting students on campus, and maintaining positive communications with parents, students and other staff members while maintaining compliance with our safe child guidelines and Parish mission.

Key responsibilities:

• Provides a welcoming and safe environment for all students
• Assists with set-up and clean-up of games, toys, and snacks
• Monitors student behavior during inside and outside play, addresses any concerns, and reinforces positive environment promoting the safety of everyone in the program
• Communicates with staff regarding student transport to and from different locations on campus to ensure student safety
• Assists students with homework as needed
• Must be 18 year of age or older.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented.
• Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPR certification
• Prior experience working with elementary aged children
