Job summary

Patrick County Public Schools’ Stuart Elementary in Stuart, Virginia seeks a Group Leader for After-School Care to supervise and support students in the program. You will help create a safe, engaging environment with academic support and enrichment activities after school.

The role requires working with school personnel, families, and volunteers and may involve CPR/First Aid certification and ongoing training. Part-time hours support after-school operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with children in school/childcare preferred.
• Ability to supervise and interact with school-age children.
• Ability to plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with students, families, and staff.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow board policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of students in the after-school program.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all students.
• Follow schedules, routines, and procedures for the program.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance and monitor students throughout the program.
• Ensure students are released to authorized individuals per procedures.
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate academic, enrichment, recreational, and social activities.
• Set clear behavior expectations in line with policies.
