The Peace Rose Montessori School in Sayreville, NJ is seeking a part-time After Care/Teacher Assistant to join the team. You will work 1:45 PM–6:00 PM, with early dismissal days 11:45 AM–6:00 PM, supporting Lead Teacher and providing engaging activities for children after school.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, being 18+, and a genuine love of working with children. Pay is based on experience; benefits include 401(k) and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience with young children preferred; childcare, babysitting, classroom, or parenting experience is welcome.
• A genuine love of working with children is a must.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside Lead Teacher to provide a warm, engaging afternoon program.
• Engage with children through activities, outdoor play, crafts, and storytelling.
• One-on-one support for children who need it, with patience and calmness.
• Assist with transitions, routines, and age-appropriate needs.
• Greet families at pick-up and communicate updates.
• Help maintain a clean, organized classroom and prepare spaces for the next day.
• Provide classroom support and supervision as needed.
