Job summary

The Kettle Moraine YMCA is seeking a Part Time Child Care Leader for Port Washington, WI, located at Dunwiddie Elementary School. Responsibilities include coordinating before/after school care, day camp, and related programs for school-aged children.

Hours are 6:00–8:45 a.m. and 2:45–6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Compliance with Wisconsin licensing, staff training, and safety procedures are essential. Benefits include a free Y membership and program discounts.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred or equivalent childcare background.
• 1–2 years experience in a childcare program preferred.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Must complete continuing education per Wisconsin licensing.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred or must be obtained within 30 days.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups and demonstrate strong communication skills.
• Child Care Teacher qualification or plan to achieve within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate before/after school, day camp, and kids’ day out programs.
• Ensure high-quality programs and compliance with licensing and safety standards.
• Oversee staff and volunteers; train and develop personnel as needed.
• Maintain facilities and equipment to support healthy living.
• Build relationships with licensing, schools, parents and community partners.

Education

Associates Degree preferred

One to two years related experience

Must be at least 18 years of age

Continuing Education as required by Wisconsin State Licensing Standards

CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire

Child Care Teacher qualified or able to become within 3 months
