Job Summary

The After School Assistant Director supports planning and operations of a high-quality afterschool program, assisting the After School Director with administrative tasks such as attendance, payroll, communication with parents, supervising volunteers, and logistical support.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain accurate student records and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in opening and closing the program.
  • Communicate regularly with families about attendance and behavior.
  • Support data collection and analysis for student performance.
  • Provide classroom or small group instruction as needed.
  • Support logistical and clerical tasks for the program.

Team Leadership:

  • Create an environment of high expectations and professionalism.
  • Foster a culture emphasizing college preparation.
  • Develop behavior management systems.
  • Oversee tutors, contractors, and volunteers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Align with Aspire’s mission, policies, and values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of youth development and learning styles.
  • Willingness to develop professionally.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Minimum education: Associates degree or 48 college units; Bachelors preferred.
  • Experience working with youth or in a school/community setting.
  • Experience in administration or management preferred.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties.
  • Work authorization and health clearance required.

Work Environment

Indoor and outdoor settings, with possible exposure to dust, chemicals, and health risks associated with working with children.

Compensation

Competitive salary range of $30.20-$54.71/hour, with benefits including health, retirement, and professional development support.
