Job summary

Chelmsford Public Schools is seeking an Extended Day Counselor to coordinate after-school programs at the Chelmsford Community Education Center and local elementary/middle schools. This part-time role involves implementing daily activity plans, supervising students, and mentoring junior staff to create a safe and engaging after-school experience.

The position requires a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) with experience in school settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; two years of college preferred.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Attend mandatory training and CPS training.
• Assist with sign-in/sign-out and maintain student records.
• Assist Supervisor in implementing daily program plan and activities.
• Plan activities to enrich the student experience and adapt for small groups.
• Meet students' needs by adjusting behavior management plans.
• Under supervision, implement plans to help children with challenges.
• Communicate with teachers and parents about student progress and concerns.
