Job summary

Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs is seeking an Activities Leader for YOACAP’s after-school program in Philadelphia. This part-time role supports weekly student review, homework help, and summer workshops while promoting a safe, engaging environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s Degree, have experience with youth groups (8–12 youths), and are proficient in Google Classroom and other digital tools. Work hours during school year are 1–7pm or 2–7pm; summer is 10am–3/4pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Experience interacting with youths and leading small groups (8–12 youths).
• Proficiency with Google Classroom, Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Kahoot, Zoom and Teams.
• Ability to multitask and adapt lesson plans.
• Organized, diligent and able to tutor high school students in multiple subjects.
• Scheduling: available 1pm or 2pm to 7pm during school year; 10am–3pm/4pm in summer.

Responsibilities

• Participate and encourage positive participation of all students in daily activities.
• Coordinate student activities.
• Meet with YOACAP staff to discuss progress of students.
• Organize online learning activities to build academic and social skills.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Demonstrate time management, creativity and planning.
• Ensure confidentiality and work under pressure with strong communication.
